The Monkey and The Crocodile: Once upon a time, there was an evergreen jungle that was famous for sweet red apples. The jungle was located beside a river. The name of the river was Ichamati which was deep and long and there lived a lot of aquatic organisms.
A monkey lived in that forest with his family and lead their life happily. The monkey lived in a tree and always jumped from one branch to another and similarly from one tree to another.
A crocodile also lived in the Ichamati River with his wife. One day he sat down under a tree and took some rest where the monkey lived. The monkey noticed the Crocodile from a top brunch of the tree and feel very excited to make a friendship with the Crocodile as he had no friends.
So he came down and said to the Crocodile, ” as it is my home place and you are sitting under the tree so you are my relative. ” The monkey gave him some fresh sweet red apples from the tree. The Crocodile was very much impressed to see his behavior and to eat such a sweet apple. So he thanks the monkey and go back to his home.
The time goes on and the Crocodile started to come there every day and ate sweet fruits on a regular basis. Thus their friendship becomes strong. They spend every day with each other and discussed several things.
One day the Crocodile said the monkey to give her some apples to his wife. The monkey gave him a lot of apples happily for his wife. The Crocodile gave the fruits to his wife.
She was also happy to taste such sweet fruits. But when he told everything about their friendship she become very jealous as he spend more time with the monkey.
Thus a horrible thought came into her mind. She thought as the fruits of that forest are so much sweet then the heart of the monkey will taste sweeter. Then she said to his husband ” Can you bring the heart of that monkey for me? I want to taste his heart.
“Then he hurriedly asked his wife how can you say that. How can you even think of such words. This is impossible. Then again she said to her husband “Do you love that monkey more than me? If you love me bring his heart for me.
“The male crocodile was the monkey’s best friend, so he didn’t want to fool the monkey. But the crocodile also loved his wife very much, so he didn’t want to hurt his wife either. The male crocodile felt helpless for the love of his wife. Then the male crocodile told his wife that he will not eat anything until May brings the monkey’s heart.
Thus the Crocodile becomes worried and helpless too. but he had no other option thus he made a plan and reached into the living place of the monkey and asked him that he is invited to his home that day as he told his wife about their friendship and she was very glad to know that and want to meet with him.
The Crocodile said , ” you have to go my house .” The monkey was very happy to know that he is invited to his friend’s house but in other hand he was worried as he don’t know how to swim.
Then the Crocodile proposed, ” you can sat on my back, and then you can easily travel in the river. “The monkey not only agreed to the crocodile’s offer but was also very happy.
When the Crocodile reached the middle portion of the Ichamati river then he thought it is the right time to said him all the details. After that the crocodile told him that my wife only wants to eat your heart.
According to her opinion, your heart will definitely very sweet as you eat sweet fruits daily. To listen to his unkind word the monkey become very sad but he didn’t express his emotions to her face and said to the Crocodile,
“I am so glad to know that your wife wants to eat my heart but you should tell me the story before some time as I kept my heart into the tree where I lived ” with a smile.
The monkey request again to the Crocodile. ” please go back to the same place as I can take my heart for your beloved wife. “The crocodile was unable to understand the cunning of the monkey. Additionally he was very happy to know that his friend don’t became agree to give him his heart without any hesitation.
Thus the Crocodile changes his route again and came again to the home place of monkey. The monkey jumped from his back and climbed up to the top brunch of the tree for safety purpose and said to the Crocodile, ” now you can go back foolish towards your home.
I had faith on you as you were my best friend but you cheat on me. You are ready to take my life just because of the jealousy of your wife. You are an emotional fool. You are not my friend from today. Even you don’t deserve a true friendship. ”
