Unity is Strength: Many years ago there was a beautiful village. The scenery of that village which was situated in the lap of the mountain was so peaceful. In that village, an old man named, Ratan lived with his wife, four sons, and their extended family.
Though the environment of that village was so peaceful but no peace present in the home environment of Ratan. His wife and other members were very understanding but his own four sons were very disobedient. They did not pay any attention to the advice of their guardians.
They always try to find the fault in each other. They always criticized other family members. Thus quarreling with one another in their family was a daily drama. Ratan became tired and irritating too by this rude behavior of his sons.
Ratan always tried to understand if you are fighting with each other then it will be harmful to our family. Other people will take advantage of your weakness but they did not listen to their father’s advice.
Thus Ratan was very anxious. Their home environment gradually became toxic. Then Ratan throught this problem should be solved anyhow so he made a plan in his mind.
According to his plan one day he called his four sons and ordered to his every son to bring a small stick separately and also told them to finish this task as soon as possible and after finishing your task you all come here and meet together in this courtyard.
His four sons listen to him and each son collected a small stick and meet in the courtyard according to their father’s order. Then Ratan said, ” give me all the sticks collected by you into my hand .”
His elder son collected each stick from the other brother and gave them to his father’s hand. Then Ratan ties a knot with four sticks and makes a small bundle of sticks and orders them, ” break it immediately.”
Listen to his word his sons were laughing and one of his sons told that it’s such a fun game. Ratan laugh in one’s sleeve to listen to his sons’ attitude but said nothing only observed them.
At first, his elder son tried to break the bundle of sticks but he was unable to break the bundle. He was amazed to realize that he can’t break the bundle. To see the failure of their elder brother, the other brother started laughing at him. Ratan said to his other sons, ” don’t laugh at him, try to break the bundle. ”
Then his middle son tried to break the bundle and tried hard to harder but he also failed to do his work. Then the other two sons also tried hard till their last breath to break the bundle but their all efforts were in ruin.
When all become failed then Ratan untied the roap and separate all the sticks from the bundle and gave them a single stick to his every son and then ordered them, “Now do this, try to break all the sticks one by one.”
But his sons could not understand what plan was going on in his father’s mind. Then Ratan said, “So, what do you understand that, why I giving you this kind of work? The main cause is unity. When all the sticks were tied up together then you all were unable to break the bundle but when I give the stick separately then you can break it very easily.”
Similarly when you all brother will live together and not fight with each other then nobody can harm you. Then our family will unbreakable too. Then the four sons of Ratan understand the importance of unity in their lives and they promised each other they will never quarrel with each other.
